Hi parents. I just want to comment that my son Kevin is 5 years old now and is fully potty trained. My wife and I can not stop thanking God and all the people involved for that gain: ABA Therapist, two teachers from the day care, his teachers from pre-school and my wife and I. All of us did not give him a break remember him to go potty or taking him to the potty ourselfs. But I have admit it was his ABA therapist who scare him when after therapy he did pee in his pants in front of her and then she start directing him to remove all his clothes and take the clothes to the laundry room and take a bath while he was crying he was doing all that. That was the begining of the process. It was very hard for me to see how she was screaming at him but I knew after 3 years of therapy she has a very important participation on his progress. Once he was potty trained he goes by himself and clean his bud by himself. Thank you God you are so generous helping us to overcome autist little by little.

We have found that the kitchen timer is invaluable. My 10 yr old son will get wrapped up in a Wii game or legos and suddenly.... !!! So now we try to remind him to set a timer whenever he begins an activity that we know he tends to lose himself in. He usually sets it for an hour, when it goes off he goes to the restroom and then resets it. It helped that he is embarrassed by the accidents- initially that wasn't the case. It was a couple of months and a social story to get him there.
