I'm also so sorry that you and Joseph are going through this.
It could be stress and it could also be produced from anxiety. I know a lot of kiddos show symptoms of OCD when they feel anxious and want to control their environment as a way for them to cope. You could try offering small choices throughout the day (would you like to use a spoon or fork, do you want to brush your teeth first or put your pajamas on first, etc.). Use two options that you are okay with. Offering small but constant choices gives him more control and may help him feel more secure.

Yes the change in routine is a HUGE thing here too...we can not change any kind of plans or how the structrure is..that is a NO NO!
