If I recall correctly, Emily Rubin was working with Dr. Prizant on the east coast and returned home near Monterey, CA, and was able to start her programs in some of the schools there. At the time their program was being published. http://www.scerts.com/ for more info.

@EvelynRepass Yes, now I remember... I loved the presentation by Dr. Prizant, he lectured on the SCERTS model. He was very good, actually, his presentation is what gave me the awareness that my son had autism. He had many video clips of young children who behaved just like my son did. I was invited to attend the conference by one of my early intervention specialist, OT who told me about the upcoming conference.
I wonder if anyone else has had experience with this model. It combines social and communication strategies, with strategies for emotional regulation and provides a welcome and understanding environment in the form transactional supports. Best of everything, I think. My son's preschool was modeled on SCERTS.
They use that SCERTS model here in Ohio too. I can't quite remember what it's all about. But I remember thinking it was a good therapy.
