My son was also diagnosed with ADHD when he was younger. Five years later he was re-evaled and diagnosed with Autism. His psych said that a lot of kids show signs of both, so it gets a little comfusing. In my son's case, he has the ADHD as a secondary diagnosis.

I have been told that some doctors will not diagnose a child with both ADHD and Autism but some will. What label(s) your child gets depends heavily on which doctor you choose and how they interpret the guidelines in the diagnostic manual.
