He hits my mother right before we leave her house and he spits at the teachers aide at school right before he leaves her. I don't know how to change this habit. My son is 8 and he has Autism and ADHD, becoming a little verbal.

Hi Richelle, my grandson does not spit but he hits and scratches other people and his brothers but not me or his Dad. I tried scratching him back just to let him see that it hurts but it only made him scratch more and more angry. I even tried talking to him telling him not to do it but he only smiles. That certainly did not work.
