I would not agree to send my 4yr old in alone. I think that they should understand why you are not comfortable with this and if they dont understand then I would also find someone else to see her.

My DD had 4 evals and I was in the room for all of them except for the part of the IEP assessment that was classroom observations at the Early Intervention preschool. I was also in the room for the evals done by her OT and SLP.

Parent(s) should be in the room with a 4 year old during any evaluation. If pscyh doesn't agree, find someone else.

There should be a room that he can take her without you in the room but it should have a two way window. My daughter went and I stood in the window and watched everything so you should bring that too his attention I am sure in the building they should have a room set up just like that due to parents concern, if not then I advise you to keep looking for one that does it wouldn't matter if it was a woman I mean we are more trustworthy but not in these times so unless your eyes are in the same room look elsewhere. And if your child is non verbal I truly suggest you seek another place and request this information upfront so you won't waste your time.. Some places will tell you they will have another person in the room if that will make you feel better, just get your daughter and leave. They told me I couldn't be in the room while my daughter had her first pep test not only was I in the room I requested a female doctor. We "speak" for them and what works is when you hear me speak it is my daughters voice plan and simple. I am wishing you luck..

I was NEVER, not ONCE asked by ANYONE during ANY/ALL the evals my daughter had to go through, to leave the room and 5 outta the 10 admins were men..
