Members overwhelmingly agreed that ABA therapy can help reduce tantrums and head-banging behaviors in young children with autism, with many sharing that early intervention makes the biggest difference. Several members described meaningful improvements in their own children within weeks or months, including better communication skills, fewer meltdowns, increased eye contact, and learning to request needs properly instead of acting out from frustration. A recurring theme was the importance of parental involvement in reinforcing ABA strategies at home, finding a qualified BCBA with real autism experience, and exploring insurance coverage or assistance programs to manage the often high out-of-pocket costs.

ABA has improved my son's behavior (hes 3 1/2 hfa) In just 3 months of therapy he has had less tantrums and more eye contact since he started. And he is also being taught to ask for things properly (mands) and being taught to process information faster. I can see why it works so well. Most of his tantrums were from a communication gap. Once he learned to request things his tantrums only happen now when he doesn't get what he wants as opposed to can't say what he wants.

Yes, but I would advise you to find a BCBA with a master's in ABA and that has real experience in ASD's!

I couldn't leave my five year old alone with my two year old for fear of my baby's safety. Now she is a different child thank good we started aba. Most important part of aba is that as a parent you need to implement aba strategies every day.
