@JodyM that's exactly what the intake said on yesterday. That children with Autism have a harder time coping with conveying their wants and needs so it comes out more aggressive than NT kids. That sometimes there can also be a motive to their aggression as well.
My oldest is an aspy and he is a gentle giant. He is not aggressive. My youngest is non-verbal autistic and get frustrated with everyone but his twin typical sister. Hope that helped you.
Hi @A MyAutismTeam Member.. I consider Joey mild to moderate functiong, but more moderate. He is very dependent on me and lack of communication really interferes with his functioning ability. They have classified him asd, but never where on the scale. That being said, since Joey was a baby he has been a good boy, non aggressive, compliant, no self-injury. He does throw tantrums occasionally but I think that is because of his lack of communication.
I am vey thankful he is non- behavioral but he is still young( will be 5) so of course I worry:(
Any age, I'm curious to know if there are some kids who never hit, scratch, throw things. Or does this behavior come with Autism. My son was loving also. But he always ad a tendency to hit, pull hair etc. He's non verbal and can't sign fluently although he now can sign certain words.
