Hey, I understand how you feel. Been there, done that with my three oldest sons and one step son. We have been homeschooling our ten year old since he was four. There are so many groups out there on the internet for homeschoolers that you can't shake a stick at them all! I found one for homeschoolers with autism just last week on Facebook. Thanks for all your suggestions, we are in Bloomfield, NJ right now the school district is having serious issues with budget mismanagement, the more affected is Especial Ed. also I don't understand why teachers and school personnel get so out of place when we moms question them regarding our kids progress like why in an entire year he wasn't able to achieved his goals, or why is the school is so concerned in teaching academics when very little or nothing is done in the area of most concern: social skills, social appropriate behavior, self regulation, I asked for a positive behavior assessment but they said that if the behavior is not disruptive enough when he goes for 40 min a day for inclusion at the gen Ed, they're just sending him with the para but nothing has been done to reduce his behaviors (self talking, grabbing others belongings,hitting himself out of frustration) that is why if the school does for him I'd rather homeschool him. Its been so frustrating for me and so overwhelmed, just-don't know anymore what to do.
