Lafayette is actually more in the Northern part of CA. Near the Bay Area. I'm also in CA but in SoCAL, and I'm not sure if the same services are available. I started services for my son thru Regional Center and they have offices all over. It looks like you might want to check with their East Bay office, they may be able to give you a place to start:
