No matter what tablet you get, I would recommend something that protects it in case it's dropped. The specialists here recommended something called an iGuy... it's a thick rubber case in the shape of a little guy, rather cute really. They told me it takes a lot to break a tablet with one of those on, it's the best they have found.

We purchased the Nexus 7, it has alot of Android apps that are educational. Were thinking about getting him an Ipad for Christmas

Just bought Bryce his own tablet but he started on the ipad, which apple offers more educational apps. Like when I purchased the ipad 3 in 2012, in the beginning of the year,by christmas the ipad 4 was out. So purchasing 3 after the 4 comes out there is a big price difference.

My son had a Nabi pad but is was limited on the amount of apps you could download. We ended up buying him an Ipad mini.
