Tooth Brushing Trouble Shooting
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have difficulty with tooth brushing? My kid doesn't like it in general but HATES toothpaste. Any toothpastes you can recommend?

We use Toms of Maine orange flavored toothpaste-they also have strawberry. I also bought a toothbrush that is double-sided so I can brush more teeth quickly...every little bit helps.

I used to wrap my son in a towel and have his father brush his teeth while I held him. Thankfully he grew out of it!

Try toms of maine toothpaste. It is a all natural toothpaste and my kids love their silly strawberry flavor as it does not have the strong menthol taste. They make it fluoride free too.

We just recently stopped the bubble gum flavor. It's all she would ever use. Brushing has always been a nightmare for us. Recently I got a Braun rotating one and she's doing much much better with her brushing. It has a 2 minute timer.

We are in the same boat with my son...he initially loved the sensation of the toothbrush bristles, but now it's a fight each and every day to get him to be still and keep his mouth open long enough to brush.
