My 2 yr old is on her 3rd day of no dairy or gluten. What is your experience, did it help, and how long did it take? Also what's your kids favorite foods and snacks? We have tried rice cakes and gluten free oatmeal and she likes those. Other than that she's been eating bananas, grapes, and eggs.
We saw a big difference from taking gluten away, but not as much for dairy. (We added back cheese, but still avoid milk.) The big gluten change that we noticed was better language. He seemed to listen better, and to stim less. The change was gradual, though, over the course of a month.
Any time we add back gluten, we see the stemming return. Small amounts of gluten do not seem to make much difference, but large amounts of gluten create a fairly obvious reaction.
There are some good cookbooks of gluten free treats, and some good websites. I like the "Spunky Coconut", but if you look around at the various Paleo sites, you can get a lot of great suggestions.
Also the almond milk will mess ith their testosterone and has so much oil in it it will cause diarrhea.
I tried it for 3 weeks and it was he'll! Having an already picky eater limiting their diet even more is terrible. He practically starved. They have blood tests that will show if your child is in need of this diet or not, thankfully my doctor ordered it and my 2 year old is fine. I saw no changes in my son while on the diet. Only stressed out mother, starved 2 year old and broke my wallet bc the food is outrageous and hard you find! I would not recommend it
We do gfcf. My son does take a probiotic twice a day per his Dr. This is to help the stomach will good bacteria. There are some great snacks that you can buy that are gfcf but they tend to be expensive I find a lot of great cookies and snack recipes online and in pinterest that he loves
Thanks! I keep writing responses and they won't post for some reason
