My 6 year old daughter is having issues with sleeping and bed wetting. We have a pretty good concoction to start with, HTP/benadryl/melatonin, goes to sleep great, then she wets the bed most nights about 2 a.m. and then she's up for the day. if I try to wake her to use the bathroom, she's up. Any suggestions? I'm exhausted and I know she's not getting to go to school enough because of this.

I would suggest less meds or use pullups untill she's able to know she needs to go.

So my mom is a nurse an she said you can order this alert system that you can slip into her pull-up or underwear an once she starts to pee it beeps an it's loud so it wakes the child an helps them to wake up an go potty ! It could just be her bladder needs to be trained to go ?! I'm not sure if this would work but at any medical supply store would have it for less then 20 bucks an most insurance pay it ! Hope this helps ! Praying

Thanks for the suggestions. We used to use pullups but now she has a fit because she is a big girl and wants to wear her panties. On the meds that we give her, they are mostly all natural supplements. And without the benadryl she doesn't go to sleep. I know that constipation can be a factor because of the pressure put on the bladder. So we make sure that she has a bm every day.

I second the pull-ups or Good nights. They make them for older kids now. I was a bed wetter until around 9 years old. It's not that I didn't want to get up to go to the bathroom. I would just pee in my sleep. Eventually I grew out of it. I would have killed for pull ups when I was a kid.
