A lady brought her 8 year old son into our garden center where i work, and she said she was trying to get a Handicap tag for her car cause her son has Autism. We got a Handicap tag, but it is cause my wife has MS. Is it possible to get this tag in FL?
You can get one in FL you are going to apt under a mental disability but they will give you one. I believe they make you take a picture of the child to get it , just go to your local tax collection office because FL technically does not have an RMV by name. I used to live there so I know it can be done
@evak77 @ Crimson Wife and @ Low_Budget_Dave Thanks for enlightening me! I hadn't thought of that yet. At 3, I can still be "in charge". It may well be an issue for us later though.
We live in CA and got a tag after my little one bolted and almost got run over. She does also have a hypotonia diagnosis but we got it under the neurological disability category.
I would also suggest that you get a letter and a prescription from your doctor. I am not sure what the valid reasons are, but I know that some are, and some aren't.
If you have a child that elopes, for example, I think that might qualify.
The issue generally is that the child elopes which basically means they run unless you are holding them which is difficult if they are bigger and stronger. The other issue is that the child tantrums and again if they are strong this is difficult, so you want to be close so you can get them out of the store and safe as soon as possible
