My family is tired of the lack of services in this area. My older children have been on the PUNS waiting list for 5 years even though they were guaranteed to receive services within 1year. Receiving ABA therapy around here is almost impossible, and we have private insurance which we pay a lot of money for! I feel the school district around here is inadequate too! There are so many ASD kids in my area and very few therapists etc., my kids seem to get lost in the shuffle. Please tell me about… read more

Are there colleges or universities near you? Another option, for the time being and one that we've found successful, is to employ students (at babysitter rates) who are in ABA training programs or ASD graduate programs to work with your child.

Often times, while they may not have the experience that a full licensed professional would have, they're eager to get hands on experience, make a little money, and apply what they're learning in the classroom, much of which may even be based on more recent research than what licensed professionals are providing.

It may not be 100% what you're looking for at the moment, but if the alternative is nothing, then this may be a really great option.

Just my $0.02 though :-)

@A MyAutismTeam Member Have you found yet what you were looking for? I know some involved parents in New Hampshire who I would be happy to connect you with if you're interested.

Also, here's a facebook group of over 600 parents in New Hampshire that would probably be a great resource to learn about various services in the state that might be options for you.
