What Is The Best Way To Teach My Son To Tie His Own Shoes?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is high functioning. How ever tying his own shoes is still difficult. I have tried, he just gets frustrated. He has very skinny feet so shoes that tie fit him better. Dose anyone have a tip that worked for them?

opt for non-tie shoes from specialty store for narrow feet? ultimately, it was more hassle for our son than it was worth at 9 to have to constantly worry about his shoes getting untied, etc. now, at 15, it's been a non-problem for years, so perhaps give him a little more time to be ready for it, naturally.

There are shoe laces that you don't have to tie.

They are all good ideas. I'm going to try that last one first. Thank you!

I came across this not too long ago and it looks so simple. I'll be showing my son soon!
