Some of our kids have a tendency to have multiple diagnosis. children with high or low Asd may also present signs of dyslexia too, and small seizures which may hinder there cognitive processing. You should get him a teacher which specializes in these, and can write a plan which can help him learn better. Sometimes if he has an IEP and if you get a diagnosis of dyslexia the school board will cover the cost of these services. I hope this helps

Hi Jules5!!
Make sure he has 2 dictionaries available- a regular one and a children's illustrated one. Also, a thesaurus will be helpful from here on out. It's actually mandatory for good writing.
I found some writing schematics helpful, too. You can get them online; they call them graphic organizer. Just google it, and hit "image".
Writing isn't my idea of fun, but the more I practice, the better the results.

There is a store near Polaris called Lakeshore Learning. They have writing books there. I bought some for my girl.

Yeah it does and also kind of funny I was talking to my sister earlier after I was able to sleep and clear my head I said to her what if has really mild Dyslexia and he had been able to compensate for it until now. So next a thourough screeneing at a behavior clinic to see if we have missed anything.
