I was just told to put my son on the GF/CF diet. I don't know anything but what I've been reading. I just feel overwhelmed. Any help would be great.

Members offered encouragement and practical guidance to someone starting a gluten-free, casein-free diet for their son, acknowledging how overwhelming the transition can feel while sharing strategies that worked for their own families. Several members recommended starting slowly by substituting familiar foods first, making items like bread and playdough from scratch to save money, reading all labels carefully since gluten hides in unexpected places like lotion and shampoo, and exploring resources like TACA's website, gluten-free recipe blogs, and Nordic Naturals omega-3 gummies. A recurring theme was that while results vary, many families reported meaningful improvements in anxiety, bowel issues, communication, and behavior, with members emphasizing that cooking from scratch and patience make the diet both affordable and sustainable.

What omega 3 vitamin do you use? I haven't found one yet that my son will take. I tried them and they do taste bad.

Interesting article, it may be helpful.
We added omega 3 to our son's diet and he made some remarkable improvements in his communication skills and eye contact.

It is difficult to start something new and with gluten in everything but you learn as you go just read all labels and celiac.com helps when in doubt. For my sons snack time I have gluten free goldfish and qaucker rice cakes so he isn't left out to much with kids snacks. If you seen a difference with CF you most likely will see a difference GF for us it was such a great improvement that we will never go back to eating wheat again.
