I lost my daughter in the Mall of Georgia at the food court. I turned around my 3 year-old disappeared in a crowd. I felt a wave of panic and couldn't figure out which way she went. My kid walked around the court and calmly walked up. It was just a few minutes but nobody noticed her I guess.

It does not take long. I do not feel like I was fully prepared. We have safety locks put into place now to try and keep her from sneaking out and wondering away. Having some kind of identification on her is helpful- that day she went out side with out shoes. Maybe her having an autism awareness shirt on that day helped the people that found her understand that she is not speaking because she is on the spectrum. It was a nightmare. I do not want it to ever happen again.

I have learned it is not uncommon for children on the spectrum to wonder away. I think what you are doing is awesome.

I ask because I'm doing a little research, currently first stage of a llc corp. For HIGH RISK ELOPEMENT SERVICES!!! I myself have had a event where I was right there turned for a second to get her a drink and that moment the a/c kicked on pulling my back door open (I was unaware of this) about 1min later I was in panic ran to find her fully dressed in our swimming pool , I. Ouldnt be mad so I myself fully clothed jump in with her.... from that day my life goal is to prepair those at High risk 11 1/2 months later: I am finished lol

A neighbor by where the incident occurred recognized my daughter and showed them were I lived.

My daughter snuck out our apartment early in the morning while we were sleeping. I heard a big bang knock on our door - it was the police. We lived close to a busy street and a good passerby found my 6-yr-old nonverbal child wondering down the road. I felt like I felled my daughter. I was in shock and did not meet the people who saved my daughter's life. She did happen to be wearing on autism awareness shirt that morning.

We immediately put child locks on our doors and we are ordering a metal tag with our contact info on it that can be strung into her shoe laces. It was a scary and eye opening day to say the least.
