My son loves watching the three stooges, however he tends to want to imitate them. We have taught him it is OK to play "stooges" with daddy but not other people as they don't like to get boinked. Our ABA tells us he should not even be allowed to watch them. I believe he needs a sense of humor. I have tried to use "three stooges" as a reward, and limit his exposure but he has all the lines memorized anyway.
My late Mother would laugh at that question. My older brother imitated the Stooges and he used to hit us until my Mom banned viewing the shows. My brother has a PhD in biochemistry has done a lot of research over the years.
The Stooges aren't role models for kids and some kids pick up wrong messages. My daughter loves Happy Tree House Friends which is a bloody cartoon that my wife couldn't stomach. Some kids like violence in cartoons or super heroes beating the crap out the bad guys.
I banned South Park because my son "scripted" the show, although not the most wholesome show, if he has behaved himself, we don't change the channel if the rest of the family is watching. can stay and watch with the rest of us.
My boy loved the 3 stooges when he saw it as well (he thrives on havoc), but the bad behavior after watching it was just unacceptable. We have now banned the movie from the home.
