To clarify, not normal for a normal 2 yr old but OCD is more common in ASD. If the changes were sudden onset and after some infection, get it checked for PANDAS (now called PANS).
Who can say what 'normal' is. Autism is a spectrum disorder which means that everyone is different and has their own unique quirks and behaviors that fall in the spectrum. If these behaviors are severe and consistent and your gut is telling you to get them checked out then I would urge you to listen to your gut and your motherly instincts.
Not normal - that sounds like OCD behaviour. One medical diagnosis which has OCD and autism comorbidity is PANDAS. Has your son had strep infection in the past (which is the main culprit in PANDAS)? Can do blood test for PANDAS and check strep titers. It can be treated to some extent if detected early enough and the symptoms can be managed. Most paediatricians wouldn't know what it is PANDAS or how to test it, so google to find the specialist close to you or research it. Good luck.
