Why Is There No One Speaking Up In Favor Of Parental Right Not To Vaccinate?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

With the recent measeles outbreak, the vaccination debate has started once again. It doesn't seem like much of a debate, however since the right not to vaccinate doesn't seem to be saying anything. Why is there no one speaking out? The only one that has spoken out on parental rights was Rand Paul.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of vaccinations. My son has had most of his. I don't believe vaccines cause autism any more than I believe peanuts cause a peanut allergy. However, we've had multiple tests done on my son. One showed giving him dairy is literally like giving him cocaine - it makes him aggressive and he can't stand to be in his own skin.

Another test showed his body can't detoxify itself, so we had to switch to organic products since pesticides have heavy metals that his body can't process. Even over the counter allergy medicines send him in a behavioral spiral.

In addition to all that, I've spoken to two moms that said when their child received the MMR shot, they both got very sick for a week and the child they knew was gone.

Knowing all this, how can I possibly take a chance that this would be 100% safe for him? How can the doctors guarantee he won't spiral deeper into his autism? They can't, but you don't hear those stories.

Here's my take on the vaccination debate, as of this moment. Like every single medication or other man-made substance out there, MOST children can get their vaccines & have no major issues, but some percentage of the population is going to have adverse reactions/effects. To say vaccinations are 100% safe is like saying heroine, or gluten, or prozac or any other ingestable substance is 100% safe. It's ignorant & simple-minded. Those in the medical field have a job to do, & that job is to protect the health & wellbeing of the population, as a whole. If that means denying the truth, spreading a judgmental mindset, or out-and-out lying to people, so be it. As long as it keeps the masses from getting each other sick.

I am truly grateful that they do their jobs so well, I am grateful for everyone who has vaccinated their children, heck, my daughters were both vaccinated, on schedule, without question (neither is ASD). My son, however, is ASD. I've done extensive research, I've uploaded the entire VAERS database, manipulated the data, run the numbers against the census data, & run statistics on it all. I didn't adopt someone else's opinion, I didn't arbitrarily decide to follow one herd of sheep or another. My responsibility lies with my children, not the masses. And for everyone out there who's been vaccinated, I thank you for helping to keep my son safe!! But I cannot force-feed him chemicals that he is very likely to have a potentially irreversible, life-altering reaction to. I'm all he's got.

1 in 68 kids with autism is a lot scarier!

@A MyAutismTeam Member, luckily most people have been vaccinated using a science that goes back over 200 years. It's cheap and saved millions of lives around the world. The more people rely on others in the herd to protect them from disease, the less effective it is. In essence we are protecting you and your family and you're not returning the favor. It's kind of like not donating blood out of fear of getting AIDS but then crying about not getting blood to save your own life.

We don't know what causes autism and there is a growing fear based on a single debunked study. I'll take the info of scientists and doctors over what is put out on Facebook. Think about it. Are you healthier here in a modern country or in the middle of Africa with little medical care and all natural food? Was it better in the good old days when people had more kids because they EXPECTED that some of their kids would die in childhood? How about without antibiotics, you could die from a simple infected cut? Yes, we know some people are allergic to penicillin but I wouldn't tell people not to use it as blanket recommendation.
