We are considering a move to Delray Beach/Boca area in Florida. Does anyone have recommendations for schools (public or private) for son with ASD and ADHD? He is high functioning. Would need info about middle schools and high schools as we would be looking to move when he is in 6th grade. Thanks in advance!

Thanks @A MyAutismTeam Member - appreciate the info. I looked at their website and looks impressive. Unfortunately, all the locations are on the west. Coast and we are looking at the east. Thanks again! If you don't mind me asking, what made you decide against Florida and opting for NC instead?

Hi, I conciderrd moving to Florida 2 years ago and in my search for specialized schools I came across Peppin Academy. I felt good about the programs and very comfortable with the way the staff responded to my many questions. The location I was considering at the time was in Riverview (Tampa).. They have 4 locations throughout Fl. Hope this helps. Good luck. I'm still looking to leave New York.... I'm considering Wilmington NC.

@A MyAutismTeam Member my opologies for the late response... I choose against Florida due to the grades of their regular school system. You see my son Aidan with ASD has a twin brother non-ASD. The schools in NC are much better. In addition after all my research and discussions with others I think I may continue Aidan within a mainstreem Scl. For now at least.

We left Florida because the state services are horrible. If you add to thT the fact that you have to travel long distances for good doctors and specialists it made up our mind fast. When respected specialists at Childrens tell you FL is 20yrs behind the North it is disturbing.

The only other place I know of that is good is Eden but they are on the West as well. You would also have to pay a lot out of pocket.
