Our son is 17months old and hospital says he is showing all the signs of autism so have us linked up to all the early intervention services. He does a strange thing with his face and clenches his fists up and turns his right fist down only last a few seconds but very very strange and can move his hands quite alot before this happens is this all apart of autism or something different as I am lost
I don't know if its possible in a child that young but you might want to ask about migraines. A couple years ago, my son started having migraines. The episodes alway start with one ear turning bright red and then some type of uncontrollable behavior ranging from running into walls to gagging, to itching. Many times he didn't experience the classic migraine pain and if he did, it was the very last symptom to show up. Apparently, involuntary or compuslive behavior can be fairly common in kids with migraines. We thought he was having seizures but the testing came back negative. We went to a pediatric neurologist to figure this out.
Thank you so much girls both for the lovely comments you have been so helpful aspiemom2autison xxx
No hun doesn't have gas or any of that it just happens sometimes it can happens 20-30 times a day its quite scary
Thanks hun see they are putting it all down to autism cos he's 17 months and only says mama Dada baba but doesn't associate the names with people he doesn't point at things and doesn't make eye contact 90% of the time and doest respond when u call him only half of the time. Its just that little thing he does with his fists and face has me quite scared and worried do u reckon something will come back off the MRI scan and show why he is doing g that? Sorry for all the questions I just feel in the dark about the hole lot if this to be honest x
It just looks like involuntary tics..all of that is tied in somehow with the seizure spectrum. It doesn't necessarily have to be autism!on a lighter note, does he have gas or anything when that happens?
