You may not think it but you are better off in NY than FL. I know it can be expensive in NY but Fl offers very little by the way of services, or at least it did a few years ago and that is why we left. You can apply for the McKay grant but it does not cover everything and there was a lot of out of pocket costs for us. I have two on the spectrum and one requires a lot of services so it was costing us thousands a year for what she needed.

We tried a few different schools and had a hard time finding people qualified to take good care of the children. We had a great PS teacher but she came from the north. Florida schools work on a lot of inclusion so that did not help. We were actually told by many a professional to move north so that is what we did.
