My son recently started playing with his poop and I find it really disgusting and want to try and stop it from happening again. What are some ways that you stopped it?
We called it the phases of poop. It went from the wall to the tv and eventually to the bathtub. I would direct the mess towards the bathroom. Then baby steps toward the toilet. It's hard to tell how long this will go on but my kid is 7 and withholds the point (tries to keep it in his body) best of luck. You are not alone
My son grew out of it as well. Granted, he still does it maybe once a month, but it's so much better than multiple times a day.
My daughter did that but outgrew it when she (finally) got out of diapers at age 5. Kids are used to sitting in their poop since birth and they will smear it when it gets to be uncomfortable. I really pushed my daughter to get to the toilet and sit there because it was probably the lowest point for us and hated the idea that we she would be like that for the rest of her life. Some kids never learn and a lot of us will be wearing diapers when we get old but it's something we don't want talk about in public. Both my Mom and Dad wore adult diapers when they got pretty old but it's better than no diapers at all or being dead.
My son did for along time... he doesn't now but he still is not potty trained it is so hard to get him to use the toilet... lots of accidents but thankfully he stopped smearing
