It's been like 4yrs since Lil Dudes Behavioral Pediatrician mentioned Chelation Therapy that many ppl believe help Autism by removing any mercury in their body there's still no definitive scientific proof it works or changes anything but I'd like some more opinions. Thank You!!
Please be very careful. That "survey" from ChristneL above is a .. well survey. It is asking an opinion and is considered not to be evidence of any caliber. Hearsay.
I suggest you first ask yourself if there is enough medical and scientific evidence that there is a link between autism and mercury poisoning.
If even after satisfying your level of need for evidence you find you want to consider this therapy, also get real evidence of an effect. A treatment is not effective simply because thousands of parents say it is effective. A treatment is effective when a large number of well controlled scientific studies say it is effective.

Chelation therapy as a treatment for autism is based on the erroneous belief that mercury in childhood vaccines is a cause of autism. This belief arose when it was noted that 1) the number of cases of autism was growing and 2) the number of recommended childhood vaccines was increasing. Some correlated the two and attributed the link to thimerosal, a mercury-containing preservative in some vaccines. The theory that thimerosal is responsible for autism has been scientifically refuted. [29, 30, 31]. (Also, see "Vaccines Do Not Cause Autism" for further discussion of this topic, with references
Chelation "therapy" is offered for a number of conditions: arteriosclerosis, angina, poor circulation to the legs and feet, autism, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, diabetes, and many other conditions. Even when it is implausible or impossible for chelation to be effective, it has been made to sound rational to people unfamiliar with the causes of these conditions
I've known many people that have done this and it never worked, all it did was freak them out.Advice, there are no quick/cure Autism fixes. Just love your child and get therapy right away:speech, behavioral, and social groups.Autism doesn't go away, but by working with your child, you can enable them to function and do well in society. Our children learn differently and may take longer to do or process things, but they're capable.
