My son is 25 and I would really like him to have a doctor who can help with his medical needs but also understand that his having autism makes some things tricky (like physicals, blood work, etc.). Anyone out there have any recommendations? His doctor is okay, but he doesn't have experience with people like my son, so it's hard to really relate.

Thank you for any help.

Hello, my son is now 35 and it was tricky when he reached adulthood and needed a new doctor. He was afraid of physicals, dentist and getting blood work. I was really lucky enough to find medical people who had the patience and began with baby steps to get him where he is now. Currently he is not afraid of lab work and medical exams. It may take some time to find the right doctor but they are out there. Hope this helps.
