Members shared mixed experiences when asked whether primary care physicians specializing in autism exist for adults, with most agreeing that such doctors are rare and difficult to find. Several members offered practical alternatives, including YAI or Premier Healthcare offices that serve individuals with disabilities across various levels, using regular primary care doctors who are aware of their child's autism, and seeking referrals from PCPs to multiple specialists like behavioral therapists, speech therapists, OT, PT, psychologists, and autism-friendly dentists.
