I am about to go against doctor's advice and use melatonin. Not to put her to sleep but put her back to sleep when she wakes up . What amount should I give a two year old

Ok she was up at 3am last night. I gave her the Sleepytime tea she went to bed on her own. Success. If she makes it through the night and this consistently works I love the person who suggested it. Thank you Thank you I will keep you posted

We had the same hesitation with medication and somehow toughed it out till our son was almost 4 (with a younger baby in the picture also). By then we decided we needed to do something so we wouldn't all break down from exhaustion. I would still recommend to speak to your Pediatrician and ask why they hesitate, and then also ask a Developmental Pediatrician (with focus in ASD). We ended up using a combo of clonidine and melatonin and sleep is now markedly improved (for close to 2 years now). Good luck!

It should have her sleeping through the night. I make my sons warm, but since shes young, id add an ice cube or two to cool it down enough for her to drink without caution. Do you play music for her while shes sleeping? I notice that with my son when he was smaller, if he woke up and heard silence, hed wake fully up, but if he woke up to the music that I played before he drifted off to sleep, hed go right back to sleep. Try the combo of the two. Also, Id be surprised if your local grocery store didnt carry Sleepytime tea. Good luck with it!

Make it warm. You don't want it too hot that she cannot drink it, but the warmth will really help to mellow her out, too! My grocery story stopped carrying it and so I order it now on Amazon in bulk. Here's a link:
