Does anyone know if weighted blankets are covered normally by insurance? I was thinking my son could use one! I think t would help!
I added Jacoby to the waiting list on weighted comfort for kids! It's going to take a bit but I'm so excited! What a fantastic program they have! Thank you guus
I had one made for my son! It was extremely cheap and my neighbhor sewed it for me. Because I used dried beans, she made a slip cover so it could be washed. It cost me about $25 total - bought fabric that was on sale at Joanne's and just dried beans by the pounds!
If you do decide to make one yourself, take a look online for helpful ideas as well as requirements. The weight of the blanket is based on the size of the person using it. The way she made mine, was so that it could be adjusted in the future as he got bigger!
insurance should cover it because it is used as a 'medical device'. you should look into local foundations in your area that will help with that. I got a weighted blanket for free for my daughter from The Issac Foundation I am in Spokane, WA though. I hope you can find something that will help you get one. They are a wonderful thing to have, they are so helpful in so many ways! :)
I will check it out! Thank you so much
