Wisdom Teeth
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Our 17 year old autistic son refuses to eat anything after having 2 impacted wisdom teeth out and keeps asking for scissors to cut the sutures in his mouth. Any suggestions?

I had two older sons have wisdom teeth out and remember the ADD son being miserable and mad. He didn't eat and wanted smoothies but couldn't suck straws so we made applesauce and anything soft that he liked. I still have a pic in my bathroom of his swollen face & cheeks! It was hardly what you described. Just wondering if it all feels too weird rt now and when the swelling goes down he will feel differently. Did the OT or PT have suggestions at your school or therapy group?

@A MyAutismTeam Member How did the rest of the day go? My son is in need of having all four pulled out soon. Feeling scared . My son has on two occasions cut things off his braces in frustration .
