I started giving him Soft nipple sippy cups and then he wanted the Character cups. He spilled when he first started using regular cups. but he no longer needs a bottle in the day. BUT he does take a bottle before bed. I don't think he needs it as much as DAD cant help but continue to baby him. That is my next goal....No Bottle at night

When the twins started pre school age three they were still on the bottle and sippy cup the school allowed sippy cups they taught them to use open cups I stll allow them sippy cups at home age 4 1/2 now because they still throw them. You will find your little one will follow different directions at school jist like any other kiddo.

I started with replacing 1 bottle with a sippy cup per day. The next week I did two, and so on. Then we moved on to regular cups - with the same process. It took some time, but it worked for me.

That's actually one of my worries too...my Liam will possibly be starting early childhood in the fall and is still on a sippy cup...he will drink through a straw...but his cognitive motions to put a cup to his lips and drink is non existent...along with spoon or utensil feeding himself...
One thing I'm trying in to do more straw drinking so at least they have that as an option...as for utensils...he uses his hands to pick up his food....while making a mess of course but at least he is eating...in his own Liam way....i would maybe ask the school or the teachers that will be working with him if they habe any suggestions or ideas that would help...they may even have options for you through the school with a special cup he can use or something..
