William attended potty training school at Marcus Institute of Emory when he was about 6 years old. He would have a bowel movement in the toilet but continued to wet his pants. One week of daily "keep dry pants" reinforcement throughout the day with 15 minutes of play alternated with sitting on the potty for 5-10 minutes all the while encouraging fluids. A staff member was with us the whole time. When William voided in the toilet he could choose the activity for his next 15 minute play time. Otherwise it was chosen for him. He was not shamed or punished if he wet his pants. By the end of the week he "got it". This can be done at home but the support in focusing on just toileting was absolutely awesome. Previous methods at home and school had not been successful.
