San deigo ca schools

We will be moving to San Diego California from east Texas. My husband will be working on the port and we are looking for a good school district for my 7 year old high functioning son with autism. Any suggestions or input would be extremely helpful, thank you in advance

Just called my friend who is an aide in San Diego. She said that La Mesa Spring Valley School District where she works is great but just got rid of their mid/moderate program and are now SAI. However the district does have an Autism program. She says to definitely steer clear of San Diego Unified. Hope this helps and good luck on your new adventure!
