We may be looking at SFUSD preschools for our 4-year old, so we'd also be interested in experience with Kindergarten and elementary schools with inclusion programs in SFUSD (or if you think there are good private preschools/elementary schools, let us know those too)
Thanks for your answer. Well one reason why I am not sure about Cobb is because there will be a new Special Ed teacher, a new General Ed teacher and a new Para, basically a whole new team. It might be a great team or not... I think I will just go to Cobb and hope for the best! If it's not great I can always ask a change for next year (in theory)
We started kindergarten at a SFUSD elementary this week and found out that the special ed staff is completely changed from when we met with them last May (and that staff had been stable for 5 years). Wonder what is going on at SFUSD.
You can ask about availability at other schools. We liked Cobb but they wouldn’t offer us a space there. The reason we liked it was that they had a good special ed staff and it was part of a larger school as opposed to the stand-alone school they sent us to.
I would like to know if you have any information!
My son was just assigned to Cobb for their inclusion class. I visited the school and didn't really like it. Was looking forward to get a spot in Presidio but there aren't any. So we are wondering what to do. Maybe ask for another school maybe just go to Cobb? Any information you have might be useful!
Since I posted this, we were placed in a SFUSD public preschool and have just received our assignment for a SFUSD elementary school for kindergarten next year. So I have a bit more information on the SFUSD IEP and placement process if anyone is interested.
