New Drug Opinions And Thoughts On ... Cardura
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son was recently prescribed Cardura to help with transitioning to school and aggressive episodes. Have any parents used this drug for their kiddos and if so what side effects both positive or negative have you experienced. My son is non verbal so I am concerned that he might experience a side effect and not be able to express it. THANKS!

HEY LOVE 💋... My son is not on any meds but I am all for the natural remedies and i live in the vitamin store ... My son takes DHA faithfully every morning and when I tell you huni it works. My son has progressed soooooo much its unbelievable but any who i have also purchased 2 herbal drops call ATTENTION DAILY(supports concentration and focus) and CALM RESTORE(calms occasional nervousness ) herbal drop by GaiaKids they are alcohol free , organic ingredient and ecologically harvest. You add a few drops in their food or drank... My son never took it bc I can not trick him he smells and examine EVERYTHING bf eating or drinking it so he always poured it out 😂😂😂

@A MyAutismTeam Member school is his trigger. His school is private, small class, everything seems okay once he’s there. Barely an outburst but his first words for the past three weeks when he wakes up are “No school! No school!” To he point of aggression and crying.” I’m currently looking for other schools as I think that he needs a more moderate placement. In a perfect world he would be taught 1:1 in a quiet environment. Whenever that happens he’s a gem. Zero behaviors. When he’s anxious is when he seizes, elopes or gets aggressive.

@A MyAutismTeam Member I agree and thank you so much for the books and other references, I’m looking them up immediately. I agree with the gut issues. They have plagued him his whole life. I am currently trying to get him to use the bathroom after him getting into food he shouldn’t have had and days of constipation. Our doctor always pushes diet and natural first and I never knew what gf/cf was before him. He also said to try this drug and see if it worked, if not to call immediately. I just felt in my gut (no pun intended) after reading about side effects that I should ask you guys to see what other people might have to say and I’m so glad I did. Since he is not able to tell me if he’s dizzy or short of breath etc. So THANK YOU! I will be reading and shopping all weekend.

Thanks Family for your prayers! Last Monday, my son was given a genetic test to see what meds would work best for him. Yesterday was the first time I've given him this "new" med; however, I believe since he didn't rest for two days, maybe that also had an effect on his behaviors. He is home with me for the next two days until his hospitalization. When I give him this pill today, and his behaviors escalate; he is coming off of it immediately. All morning, my baby has been a gem, but hasn't been given the meds yet. I am going to the grocery stores first before giving it to him, in the event it is the meds. I love you all and take care.

@A MyAutismTeam Member DO NOT get ANY doctor push you or bully you or intimidate you into anything! Drugs are the easy road for docs and schools, because it makes the kid quiet, but they don't have to live with the consequences!
THERE ARE NATURAL ALTERNATIVES, we parents have to educate ourselves. Particularly if your son is non verbal, I would be concerned like you. My son had aggression and behaviour problems, it's common in our kids and the first port of call is THE GUT. If digestion/liver function is not working, your brain doesn't work and you get a hell of a temper! Please get hold of some books or utube videos by Dr. Mark Hyman, or Karen Thomas, or anyone else out there, there are quite a few "Illuminated doctors" now, thank goodness. And by the way, speech is also connected with the gut: my son had a speech explosion right after I started him on pre-biotics! Other natural things to help along the way are homeopathic medicine and Bach flowers, they do work! Lots of prayers for you.
