We recently had to switch over to Kaiser which means most likely having to change ABA providers, since our current one is out of network. It’s been a couple of months and we are just now getting connected to the Kaiser dept handling ABA. In the meantime we’ve been paying for Cobra to avoid disrupting his therapy. Does anyone have any experience getting that expense reimbursed? The whole experience has been really frustrating.
Thanks for your input :) My issue is that Kaiser is not covering his current provider (who unfortunately is not on the list of providers) while we are going through the on board process. We didn’t want to disrupt his therapy since he’s been making such amazing progress. So we’re crossing our fingers they will reimburse us for his Cobra coverage, which is not cheap!
Kaiser has a contract with Easter Seals. I've had it for about two years. If Easter Seals is not able to service all of your hours or if you prefer another provider Kaiser will pay for it. You are not stuck with Easter Seals but the provider you choose has to be a vendor with Easter Seals. I have found that most ABA companies accept Kaiser via Easter Seals.
