Hi all, we started behavioural therapy and speech therapy for our 3 Yr old son a couple of months back. While he is doing great on a lot fronts.,one thing we notice is his attention span is very minimal. What he observes he grasps pretty quickly but to get him to look me in the eye it's a huge challenge. I have been reading up on improving eye contact and practising those methods at home. Can someone please suggest some methods for improving attention span?

We have ‘staying on task and attention’ as one of our goals at ABA. We’ve seen a lot of improvement and her teachers at school said the same. When we started , she’d stay on task or pay attention for maximum 5 minutes or less at a time. Now there are days she stays on task for upto 20 to 30 minutes. Is your therapist working on it? You could ask them for pointers on what works for him and what to do at home. I also heard there are apps for practicing eye contact. I don’t know much about it as we have not really had much problem with eye contact. Something you could research on.
