@A MyAutismTeam Member and @A MyAutismTeam Member My daughter who is 27, autism caused her to have in encopresis. Which is the holding back of stool and pooping a little in her pants. I followed everything the doctor said to do an nothing worked until I slicked up her bowel with udos oil. I started with 1 tsp three times a day the first week, the second week 2 tsp three times a day and the third week 1 Tablespoon three times a day. I slicked up her bowels up so her stool practically slide out. I kept up this routine till I noticed she was gaining weight. Her bowels are no longer a cause of her irritability. I also read magnesium tablets draw moisture into the bowels.

'Fear' is what causes Constipation @A MyAutismTeam Member. The (your) child is fearful of the toilet, so they prefer to hold it in and avoid using the toilet, but yet they don't want to go in their pants for fear of Shame.
All Constipation medicine requires Moisture at some level to allow the Fecal matter to move, and it usually takes it from the body, so Dehydration needs to be a concern.
Lately, I have doing a 'Soft Diet' for Stephen. Mashed Potatoes, Lots of Veggies and Minimal Meats, and that has been working well, but Stephen's been Pooping every-other day, but He's doing it on His own.
