Hi, has anyones child develped seizures by age 5 or 16 and what age did they start? Any progress and or any MRI findings? Our son his just been DX yesterday with the focal brain lesion for this ^ type 2b its synonymous with seizures in kids. We always noticed from 9 months he rolled his eyes back untill the whites were showing

@A MyAutismTeam Member, yes, the first medication tried worked for him. I find it strange/wonder why autism and epilepsy coincide with one another. I wish doctors knew why. Anyhow, his seizures are under control which I am grateful for. As for medical marijuana, I don't want to experiment because if he were to have another big seizure, it wouldn't be good. He broke his jaw last time, almost lost his bottom teeth.

J had grand mal seizures when she came to us at 18 they started at 16 after a self induced comma to heal an sib sight..but only had them if meds error or drs made a mistake and took her off of them for too long and we had a little hiccup when she went through puberty but we got to reduce the meds. Js seizures are due to her genetic makeup says her genetics dr. We used to hate mris until we got a hospital around here with a open room mri she likes it a lot more and you don’t have to be strapped to the table. Good luck with your journey!

@A MyAutismTeam Member thats unfortunate, I read up that certain seizures can present at by ages 5 and 16, so sorry your son caught them on the maximum end.
Have yous considered a surgery route I believe its called resection? This is of the brain has lesion or lesions?
Are meds working at all currently or what is?
There is a case here where I live about a boy just being prescribed medical marijuanna made legal through our government, it had originally been seized at customs when him and Mum were travelling to London but they fought it and won!

Unfortunately, I do not have a child that is having these issues. I hope it gets resolved.

Joy, my son starting having seizures, his luck, the biggest ones there are, at age 16. Had all the tests in the book, and nothing was found, it really sucks.
