My son went through this stage as well. He agreed to go into the hospital emergency room under crisis. A nurse told me they would help me when I called upset. After arriving we were taken in right away, into the special section. it was very calm. They evaluated him right away and suggested he needed a day program or inpatient. So since the local program had openings in two days, he agreed to attend. He loved it. He was able to see a child psychiatrist , therapist, nurse immediately. He was immediately started on medications for the newly diagnosed anxiety, depression, and OCD. They also told us they believed him to be on the spectrum. We had to wait for 6 months for that diag. My school district should of transported him, it is required. Once stabilized on the depression meds, he also needed a stimulant to help him have energy, and focus for school. It took two years to get it all straightened out. So thankful they helped us figure it all out. My son was bored in classes. He eventually attended only 1 course per semester his senior year, so he could attend college classes at comm college. He loved it! Please let me know if you have more q's.
She says it's all too much. She can't focus for that long, she's bored, etc. Her day was shortened last year from 9-11:30am. She said she wanted to go back this year, got all her school supplies. After the first day she refuses to return. Refuses to do home schooling with teachers meeting with her in the afternoons.
whats the reason she is refusing school?
