My son was diagnosed with ASD level 1, 2 years ago. He is about to turn 13 in a couple of weeks and I am wrecking my brain trying to decide what to do for his birthday. We have a very limited income as I am disabled and we are currently in the process of trying to apply for SSI benefits for him for the second time. It is difficult, and I’m guessing you’ve thought about so many ideas. Is there a special game that he’d like for his bday that you can afford and maybe have one friend over to play the new game with their favourite food? Iknow outings are so expensive. Good luck and hope your son has a super birthday.
I don't think I would do anything that is a lot of stimulation with a lot of kids. Maybe a movie party with a couple of his best friends. Then back at the house and order pizza.
Hey!! Wow happy 13th b day to your son! That’s exciting 😄for my son, he’s not into things per say but he loves to be with us. So we make up a list of 3 different places (all in budget range and in your home town)that he could go with us and have fun!! 👍🏻Last year he chose to go to the science center and this year it was to go see a movie. You could always make skidding or skating lists that don’t cost much, if you have snow where your living?? Haha we also have cupcakes with candles and a small present afterwards. Hope it helps 👌
Thank you! I think sometimes I get caught up in what I imagine a 13 year boy wants to do instead of what HE actually wants to do (which is play video games) 😫
