Diagnosed at 18 months old with PDD NOS he will be eight and September he hasn't had any testing done since then they tried in school but he would not participate I'm just wondering what tests should I be looking for or asking for or anything like that please and thanks in advance we are from West Virginia
When they're younger it's much harder. I remember the battlezones my daughter put me through. But I stayed firm. If she didn't cooperate she lost privledges like internet. Lots of times outs too. Now she's very co-operative & maturity is coming through
Zebra101 no he does not habe a t.s.s.worker. They tried doing some testing but he wasn't having it.
Neuropsychological evaluation is good. It test different domains- functioning, cognitive, memory, neurological- central nervous system issues and many others. They also give treatment recommendation.
Does your son have a TSS worker that goes to class with him for cues and redirection. If not, check into an agency to get him one. A full evaluation will be needed to determine his eligibilty. Then afterwards the TSS worker can be with him for a full psychological evaluation. Then afterwards during classes to keep him on track.
