Re-Evaluation Provider Near Denver, Colorado (hopefully Takes BlueCrossBlueShield)?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question đź’

My insurance changed and now BCBS is requiring a more recent Evaluation/Diagnosis (my son was diagnosed in 2010) before we can get approval for ABA Therapy. This is so annoying as we all know that Autism doesn't go away. I have a 30 day window to get this evaluation before my approval for ABA expires and we have to start this 6 month process over. Can you send me any referrals for a Re-Evaluation or Re-Assessment? Our original psychologist has no openings until August! Crazy
Thank you beloved… read more

@A MyAutismTeam Member.
I am not sure what the names of the tests BCBS is needing. You might find out. If they are asking for a follow up exam for diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Distorder, I think your best bet is to call a University Hospital or a large city teaching hospital ask them for the number of the Department for ASD.ask to speak to the Autism Spectrum Social Worker “ for this drpartment.
There is also a huge resourse site which is very educational for all kinds of issues relating to disabilities. They break it down to states. It’s called “Wrights Law.com”. If my spelling is correct. You can message me or post if it’s not.
Also I lived in Florida where the state ran an excellent resource research and educational, therapy agency. It’s name is CARD. Center for Autism and Related Disorders (including LD ADHD deaf, blind, children and adults, etc. please let me know if you have questions and or how things are going. Hope I helped

Thank you so much! I cold called and emailed around 6 yesterday so fingers-crossed. It looks like this stupid curve ball will cost us a minimum of $2,000. If anyone takes insurance, the wait list seems to be months (no change from 9 years ago). Grrrrr.

I would ask your ABA company if they have any BCBS patients currently and who are their diagnosing pratictioners. That’s best bet, as they were approved. Or, when you go to the center, ask other parents who are there who their diagnosing Dr is. Also looks like there is a bunch in the area you could also cold call (I don’t live there but trying to give some options) https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/a...
