Hello, my daughter is 6 yes old and is diagnosed with autism.. She has recently started poop smearing and it's really frustrating especially since the last 6 months I was so happy with her progress. I don't know what to do about it she doesn't speak so I can't even speak to her about it. She just plays with her poop and very excited about her poop. Please help I have tried onesises but she just unzips them and does it.

Play doh and other sensory toys as a substitute. Find a good OT- they will do lots of slime sensory activities which will help. She is seeking sensory satisfaction from the poop.

Try a one piece swimsuit over her diaper.

Also, I would definitely recommend the Nemechek Protocol. My daughter has made huge gains including potty training since starting in January.
