What thoughts do parents have regarding the COVID-19 injection for their kids on the ASD
My wife is an RN and she wanted to have my 11-year-old ASD daughter get the shot. The risk of covid to kids is incredibly low but I was neutral on the vaccine for kids. So my daughter was vaccinated.
If your kid has some co-morbidities for listed below you may want to get him/her vaccinated.
Lung problems, including asthma
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Lung cancer
Cystic fibrosis
Pulmonary fibrosis
Moderate to severe asthma
Pulmonary hypertension
Pulmonary embolism
Besides being an asthma trigger, smoking or vaping can harm your lungs and inhibit your immune system, which increases the risk of serious complications with COVID-19.
Heart disease
Cardiomyopathy
Congenital heart disease
Heart failure
Coronary artery disease
Brain and nervous system conditions
These include:
Stroke
Dementia
Diabetes and obesity
Cancer and certain blood disorders
Sickle cell anemia is another condition that increases the risk of severe COVID-19 symptoms.
Another inherited blood disorder, called thalassemia, might also make you more likely to have serious COVID-19 symptoms.
Weakened immune system
Organ transplants
Cancer treatments
Bone marrow transplant
HIV/AIDS
Chronic kidney or liver disease
Mental health conditions
People with mental health conditions such as depression and schizophrenia spectrum disorders may be more likely to develop serious COVID-19 symptoms.
Down syndrome

We live in florida by way of nyc. That being said were all vaccinated. My seven year old son who has ASD is vaccinated. The above comment is perfect and has all the info needed.
I was super against it. My kid gets sick but always test negative for covid. So why bother?
This is my 2nd time having covid. I got us both vaccinated because for some reason covid is not going anywhere. We just got the first shot.......to be continued
