My son just got diagnosed with ASD earlier this month. We have noticed for some time he has started to hump or what looks like he's humping. He presses down on his penis with his blanket, pillows or his hands. And he becomes stiff, drools and becomes out of breath. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I encourage him to stop?
So some kinda stimming behavior likely. Consider aba therapy or an OT therapist can help with this. Likely they would want to either distract the child or give the child some other activity to do that is preferred. Attempt not to call attention to it but rather redirect the child to something else if able. Hope this helps
