Has anyone else been through this? She is so rigid about changing anything, it's a complete meltdown when we try.
I feel like distraction works best in these situations. When my Son is having a hard time with change, I will distract him with something he likes like with his Tablet or ask him to come get up on my lap and sit with Mommy so I can read to him, or distract him with something on TV , or offer him something he likes to eat and try to redirect him so he doesn't really even notice the change and have a meltdown. I found it has gotten so much better for us now, and he accepts change more easily now. I hope this helps💖
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about the struggles of your son and your family. Feeding issues are no joke, it's been the hardest part of our journey. I've often wondered if we would ever find ourselves at the need of a feeding tube. I'm sure you are just thankful that he is finally getting nutrition as it is so stressful to constantly worry!!! We are all in this together, I'm here for support, thank you for reaching out!
Yes, I’m dealing with the same problem with my son. My son is Currently in the hospital and he won’t let no one, not even myself dress him. The only thing he allows his Special Care Nurses do is change his diaper. I totally understand. My son is very rigid about everything and won’t eat nothing. I finally decided that a feeding tube would be better than fighting with my son over food textures. So my sons doctors inserted a feeding tube into my son. Do I feel for you. Hope things goes better soon. My prayers are with you and your family.
She is ALWAYS distracted when she's eating, but she notices everything. We think we're slipping something by her and she can sniff it out a mile away. We have managed to get a lot of headway with quite a few things food wise but this bottle and pediasure and laying down thing is impossible to break!
